Job Summary:

Take Five Limited is seeking applicants for the position of Trainee Barista. This is an entry level role that requires no or limited experience, on the job training will be provided. The Trainee Barista is learning to provide coffee services for the Restaurants, Buzz and Grocery Store locations.

Key Duties:

• Cleans and sanitizes machines and keeps the workspace tidy (i.e. countertops areas, utensils and equipment, service and seating areas)
• Ensures all major machines appliances are operating at the correct temperature and functioning properly (i.e. check temperature of freezers, refrigerators, or heating equipment to ensure optimal functioning)
• Participates in and learns all aspects of our coffee business Learns our beverage menus
• Prepares and serves hot and cold beverages
• Works as a Barista in our outlets and restaurants
• Provides excellent customer service to our walk-in and telephone customers
• Operates a computer-based Point of Sale system and performs basic arithmetic Learns how to roast and blend varieties of coffee
• Describes menu items to customers and suggests items that may appeal to them
• Takes customer orders and serves prepared food orders
• Receives and processes customer payments
• Wraps, labels and dates food items for sale Sets up and restocks product displays

Minimum Qualifications:

• Interest in training to become a Barista
• Commitment to study various coffee techniques
• Ability to keep the coffee shop organized, stocked and clean
• Strong interest and aptitude in coffee
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to train and educate staff about coffee
• Must be honest, reliable and demonstrate good judgement with the ability to think quickly and clearly in a high-pressure environment, multi-task and show initiative
• Must be a team player, responsible, self-starter with a positive attitude
• Ability to work six days a week, be on your feet for long periods and lift 50 pounds
• Have flexible shift availabilities and commute between multiple Take Five Ltd. restaurant locations (public holidays, nights and weekends)
